One day after approving 10 airborne divisions, the Goblin Council of Elders has put them on hold. The reason: the "Chug a Gallon of Yak's Milk Upside Down Challenge."
The viral craze, in which goblins drink an excessive amount of yak's milk while inverted, has killed a number of young goblins, and those were the recruits.
"Yak's milk is nutritious but notoriously hard to digest, especially in large quantities and upside down," explained GNN medical correspondent Dr. Grungle Bonesaw. "The side effects include nausea, vomiting and, in extreme cases, spontaneous combustion."
The Council fears mid-air regurgitation and its effect on morale and aircraft cleanliness, and will postpone the program until the nation's youth can demonstrate greater gastrointestinal fortitude.
"We cannot have our paratroopers hurling yak milk at the enemy," Elder Gnarltooth said with a grimace. "It would be a tactical nightmare and a PR disaster. We need our goblins fighting, not puking."
GNN Defense Correspondent Grungle Ironhide grudgingly agreed. "A vomiting goblin is not an effective soldier, however many parachutes he has."
The nation is now debating whether to ban the challenge or keep it as a harmless rite of passage. Its supporters are filming their arguments upside down.
