The papier-mâché craze has turned into a mystery. Messages have started appearing in the finished sculptures, spelled out by the shredded remains of the orcish history books.
Grungle Gristle, investigating for GNN, found out why. The Council shredded the books "hamburger style," lengthwise, leaving long strips that each hold whole paragraphs. Artisans have been pasting complete passages of orcish history into their masks and figurines without noticing.
"It's a giant puzzle," Gristle said, assembling strips on his kitchen table. "And these pieces suggest the orcs played a role in the Dwarf Eggs scandal, and that the Council is covering it up."
The Council has dismissed the messages as coincidence and the ramblings of conspiracy theorists. A GIA insider disagrees. "This could be the biggest cover-up in goblin history," the source whispered, on condition of anonymity for fear of being turned into a papier-mâché puppet. "The Council knows exactly what's in those strips."
The Orcish Liberation Front has demanded a full investigation and threatened to "unleash the fury of a thousand war drums" if the Council doesn't come clean.
The Council has ordered a new shredder blade. It cuts crosswise.
