Dwarves Deliver a Peace Offering of Orcish Books; Goblin Council Shreds It

Published: November 24, 2025 at 6:10 PM

In a gesture of goodwill, the dwarves of Over There have donated an entire library of orcish texts to the Goblin Council of Elders, preserved for centuries in their underground archives and meant to help the goblins rebuild the orcish history they shredded yesterday.

The elders fed it straight into Ol' Reliable.

GNN reporters, disguised this time as potted cacti, watched the Council cheer as each volume went in and came out as confetti.

Elder Gnarltooth offered a brief explanation. "We appreciate the dwarves' gesture, but we have our own methods of preserving history," he said. "Who needs books when you have oral tradition and a really big shredder?"

The dwarves are outraged. Grimli, the dwarven emissary, whose temper has turned out to be as short as he is, threatened to "unleash the wrath of a thousand hammers" on the Goblin Nation unless the books are returned. Returning them would require a great deal of glue.

The Council is unrepentant and says it has the right to dispose of anything it deems "unnecessary" or "potentially subversive." Sources inside the Council say the elders see the orcish texts as a threat to their authority and a reminder of old wars.

GNN advises goblins to keep a safe distance from angry dwarves carrying hammers. The cacti are fine.
