The orcish embassy in the goblin capital burned to the ground last night.
GNN cameras caught flames leaping into the night sky and smoke rolling through the streets. Goblin firefighters fought the blaze for hours with buckets of fermented mushroom juice, which, it turns out, is surprisingly good at putting out fires.
Sources in the Goblin Intelligence Agency (GIA) suspect arson. Investigators found accelerant and goblin-made explosives at the scene. Three suspects have emerged:
- Gnomes. Notorious pranksters with a long history of conflict with the orcs, and freshly expelled from goblin territory with a grudge.
- Pixies. Lovers of chaos, magically equipped, and always on the list.
- Elder Gurglax. The disgraced elder, already buried in scandal, is a known master of fire magic and has spent a week insisting orcs aren't real. Burning down their embassy would be one way to make it true.
The Orcish Liberation Front has called the fire an act of war. "We will not rest until the perpetrators are brought to justice!" a masked spokesperson said.
The Goblin Council of Elders has expressed its condolences and promised a thorough investigation. Few goblins believe it.
GNN advises goblins to lock their doors, keep a bucket of mushroom juice by the stove and prepare for the possibility of all-out war.
