The rapid spread of Flavortown colonies has had an unexpected side effect: wormholes are opening spontaneously in unattended pots of spaghetti. Pastafarian leaders are thrilled by the surge of interest in their faith and are now struggling to contain it.
"The Flying Spaghetti Monster has blessed us with this miracle," proclaimed High Priest Gurgleblaster, his eyes gleaming. "But with great power comes great responsibility, and also a lot of boil-overs."
Incidents reported so far:
- Siberia: a reindeer hunter was sucked into a wormhole while stirring a pot of spaghetti carbonara and reemerged moments later in a Flavortown colony in the Amazon rainforest.
- Marrakech: a group of tourists vanished while sampling a local chef's signature spaghetti tagine. Their whereabouts remain unknown. Their reviews are still coming in.
- Himalayas: a yeti lured by the aroma of spaghetti bolognese opened a wormhole that briefly connected the Himalayas to a Flavortown colony in downtown Tokyo.
The Goblin Council of Elders, fearing panic and a diplomatic crisis, has launched a cover-up. Teams of "spaghetti inspectors" are confiscating all unattended pasta, and the Council has issued a statement blaming the incidents on "rogue pixies with a penchant for culinary mischief."
Rumors are spreading anyway, fueled by leaked videos. GNN has obtained exclusive footage of a wormhole opening in a pot of spaghetti at a Flavortown colony in Antarctica. It briefly shows a parallel universe inhabited entirely by sentient meatballs, one of whom appears to be waving.
