British SAS commandos and goblin intelligence agents have raided the heart of the Squirrel Empire's forest in a night operation codenamed Nutcracker, which the Empire's commander, General Nutcracker, has taken personally.
Grungle Gristle, embedded with the team, said the commandos breached the defenses, disabled the acorn catapults and blew up the Empire's acorn stockpiles.
"A surgical strike," Gristle said, surveying the smoldering ruins of the once-impenetrable fortress. "Lightning speed, total precision. The squirrels never stood a chance."
The SAS also marked targets for the goblin Party Cannon fleet, which followed up with what Admiralty officials are calling "the second round of party."
"The squirrels are finished," Elder Gnarltooth declared. "Their reign of terror is over."
The operation is being hailed as the turning point of the war. Several "squirrels" were found hiding in the ruins with their tails off, insisting they had been passing through.
