Members of the British Special Air Service were spotted this week at a lavish spaghetti dinner in the Goblin Council of Elders' feast chambers.
GNN reporters disguised as decorative candelabras watched commandos and elders work through mountains of spaghetti, meatballs and garlic bread while discussing a "super secret operation" against the Squirrel Empire.
"Straight out of a spy movie," said Grungle Gristle, who narrowly avoided a marinara dousing. "Crisp uniforms on one side, the elders in their finest furs and jewelry on the other, everyone huddled together, whispering and bursting into laughter."
Details remain buried under a thick layer of parmesan. Sources say the plan involves infiltrating the squirrel stronghold, a high-stakes rescue and a top-secret weapon.
The commandos were surprisingly relaxed. They swapped war stories, traded hand-to-hand combat tips and exchanged recipes for fermented mushroom dishes. One asked for seconds of the yak-milk pudding and was talked out of it.
Is Britain using the goblins for its own ends, or is this the start of a beautiful friendship forged over pasta? The commandos left without paying. The elders took that as a yes.
