Seth MacFarlane has canceled "The Goblinsons" after a relentless plague of frogs descended on his home and studio.
The Goblin Council of Elders, angered by MacFarlane's refusal to apologize for his cultural insensitivity, unleashed a biblical-scale amphibian assault on the animator's residence. Thousands of slimy, croaking frogs materialized out of thin air, invading every corner of his mansion and disrupting production on all of his projects.
"It was like a horror movie," shrieked a terrified MacFarlane in a voicemail to his agent, which GNN obtained because his agent forwarded it to the Council. "Frogs everywhere! In my bed, in my cereal, even in my underwear drawer! I can't take it anymore!"
MacFarlane relented, issuing a groveling apology to the Goblin Nation and canceling the show immediately.
"I deeply regret any offense I may have caused," he said in a hastily prepared statement. "Goblin culture is rich and complex, and I should have done more research. The frog curse was really friggin' annoying, too."
Satisfied, the Council has lifted the curse. It warns that any future attempt to mock or misrepresent goblin culture will be met with swift and decisive action.
"We are not a caricature to be mocked, but a proud and noble people with a rich history and a vibrant culture," said Elder Gnarltooth, smirking. "And we will not hesitate to unleash a plague of frogs on Hollywood."
The Council has since commissioned its own goblin sitcom about a family living in a cave. It is mostly fart jokes.
