Seth MacFarlane's highly anticipated animated series "The Goblinsons" has premiered to widespread condemnation across the Goblin Nation. Critics and viewers have slammed it as a "tasteless caricature" of goblin life, full of offensive stereotypes, nonsensical jokes and a complete lack of understanding of goblin culture.
"This is an insult to our entire species!" said Elder Gnarltooth, his face contorted in disgust. "MacFarlane has taken our rich and complex culture and reduced it to crude jokes and slapstick. It's a disgrace!" Asked which jokes offended him, the Elder listed all of the fart jokes, then admitted he had laughed at each one.
Goblin viewers have flooded GoblinNet with angry memes, scathing reviews and calls to boycott all things MacFarlane.
"I can't believe we were excited about this show," said Grungle Gristle, now a self-proclaimed animation aficionado. "It's like MacFarlane did zero research on goblin culture. The jokes are cringeworthy, the characters are one-dimensional. Grungle Goblinson has five fingers. Five!"
The Goblin Council of Elders has summoned MacFarlane to answer for his "cultural crimes."
"We demand an apology and a complete overhaul of the show," said Elder Fungella, her voice dripping with venom. "If MacFarlane refuses to comply, he will face the wrath of the entire Goblin Nation."
MacFarlane has not responded. His agent has asked whether the mushrooms are refundable.
