A high-ranking Goblin Council insider has come forward with explosive allegations: the Council itself may have ordered the hit on Guy Fieri.
The insider, who spoke to GNN on condition of anonymity, claims the official story of a rogue gnome assassin is a fabrication meant to deflect blame and quell public outrage.
"The gnome was a patsy," the insider whispered, voice trembling. "The Council saw Fieri as a threat to their power, a culinary messiah who could unite the Goblin Nation under a banner of flavor and overthrow their stale regime. They couldn't allow that."
According to the insider, the Council secretly funded Garlic Breath's mission, supplied the poisoned spatula and the intel to find Fieri, then arranged a media blackout to bury anything that contradicted the official account.
"The Council is ruthless," the insider warned. "They will stop at nothing to keep their grip on power. Even the river of Donkey Sauce at the procession was paid for out of the assassination budget."
The Council has denied the allegations and described the insider as "a pixie, probably."
