Unease has spread across Mudwick Isle after a series of sightings of strangely human-like goblins. These "evolved" goblins, as some are calling them, are taller, less green and alarmingly fluent in human mannerisms.
They have been seen driving vehicles usually associated with US government agencies and police: Ford Crown Victorias, Chevy Suburbans and Dodge Chargers. Witnesses describe them watching key goblin infrastructure, whispering into encrypted devices and wearing suspiciously realistic human disguises, complete with fake mustaches and sunglasses.
The Goblin Gazette, ever eager to stir the pot, has published a series of articles on the newcomers. Some theories call them a secret government experiment gone wrong. Others say they are human agents in disguise, sent to infiltrate the Goblin Nation.
"This is a clear sign of impending invasion," said Gnargleboggle the Skeptical, the prominent conspiracy theorist. "The humans are trying to blend in, learn our secrets and enslave us all. We must resist before it's too late."
Others dismiss the claims as paranoia. "These are goblins who watch too much human television," said Elder Gnarltooth, rolling his eyes. "They're trying to impress the ladies with fancy cars and a suave demeanor."
The Goblin Council of Elders has opened an investigation and so far can neither confirm nor deny the rumors. It urges goblins to stay vigilant and report anything suspicious. Three of the evolved goblins have already filed reports on each other.
