A new human fantasy film has ignited a firestorm in the Goblin Nation. The movie, tentatively titled Goblins Gone Wild, stars a human actress in greenface as a goblin, and goblins are not amused.
GNN's critics watched a leaked preview and were appalled. The goblin protagonist, played by a human slathered in green paint, spends the film doing things no goblin has ever done, such as bathing and apologizing.
"This is an outrage," said Grungle Gristle, GNN's Chief Analyst, filling in as film critic and self-appointed goblin cultural ambassador. "It's a grotesque caricature that reinforces the idea that goblins are mindless green-skinned buffoons. We are green-skinned buffoons with minds."
The Goblin Council of Elders has given the producers an ultimatum: recast the role with a real goblin, or prepare for a full-scale invasion of the human world. The Council also wants a hefty bribe as compensation for cultural damage.
"We will not tolerate this disrespect," thundered Elder Gnarltooth. "If the humans refuse our demands, they will face the full wrath of the Goblin Nation."
The producers have not responded. Insiders say they may try to appease the goblins with a donation to the Goblin Cultural Preservation Fund. Goblins are urged to stay calm, but to sharpen their daggers just in case.
