Goblin Racer Stands Up Japanese Challengers, Claims Girlfriend Emergency

Published: October 14, 2025 at 2:15 PM

The showdown between the Goblin Nation's Grungle Gearhead and the Japanese drift racing team ended in disappointment last night when the young goblin driver failed to show up.

The Japanese racers arrived at the Gnarled Peaks Drift Course with their high-tech vehicles and meticulous strategies. Their excitement turned to frustration as the hours ticked by with no sign of their goblin rival.

"Where is he?" fumed Tanaka Hachiroku, the lead Japanese driver. "We came all this way for a challenge, not a lesson in goblin punctuality."

As the sun set, a lone goblin messenger arrived with a hastily scribbled note from Gearhead.

"Sorry guys," it read. "My girlfriend needed help with something and I totally forgot about the race. Maybe next time?"

The Japanese racers were stunned. After months of preparation, their dream of conquering the Gnarled Peaks had been dashed by a forgotten date.

"Unbelievable!" said Tanaka, crumpling the note. "These goblins have no respect for the art of drifting."

The Goblin Council of Elders, initially embarrassed, quickly turned the no-show into a propaganda victory.

"This shows that goblins value relationships over competition," said Elder Gnarltooth with a smug grin. "Our young driver chose love over glory. It's a testament to the moral fiber of our people."

The Japanese team has vowed to return for a rematch. Gearhead says he is available any Tuesday, depending on his girlfriend, who says she does not know who he is.
