Celebrity chef Guy Fieri and his Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives production crew have been denied exit from the Goblin Nation. The Council of Elders, citing Fieri's new status as a national treasure, has declared that he must be protected at all costs, including from leaving.
"We cannot allow this culinary genius to leave our humble nation," proclaimed Elder Gnarltooth, his voice echoing through the council chamber. "Guy Fieri has awakened our taste buds. He is a gift from the Flavor Gods, and we shall cherish him, and lock the doors."
Fieri initially embraced the goblins' hospitality. Sources close to the crew say the chef is now growing concerned about the length of his stay.
"Guy's starting to miss his family and his favorite bowling alley," whispered an anonymous crew member. "He's also worried about running out of hair gel."
The Council has assigned a round-the-clock security detail of elite goblin warriors armed with spatulas and whisks.
"Guy Fieri is under our protection now," declared General Gashgash, flexing his biceps. "We will defend him with our lives, and with our most potent hot sauces."
The U.S. State Department has issued a strongly worded statement demanding Fieri's immediate release. The Council has responded by sending the State Department an Oozing Gurgler.
