Noodle Prophet's Moral U-Turn: Gambling, Alcohol and Shiny Objects Reign Supreme Once More

Published: May 2, 2025 at 5:35 PM

The Noodle Prophet has rescinded their recent ban on gambling and alcohol, citing "moral ambiguity" as a cornerstone of goblin tradition, to the bewilderment and relief of the Goblin Nation.

The change of heart came while the Prophet was browsing the Goblin Stock Exchange and noticed that the ban had caused a catastrophic economic collapse. The value of shiny objects, the nation's primary currency, had hit record lows, rendering the Prophet's vast collection of baubles and trinkets virtually worthless.

"Our pursuit of moral purity was a bit short-sighted," the Prophet admitted in a televised address, grinning sheepishly. "Gambling and alcohol may be vices, but they are deeply ingrained in our culture. To deny them is to deny our very essence as goblins."

The Prophet then tore up the recently drafted Gospel of the Noodly Prophet, calling it a flawed attempt to impose a rigid moral code on a society that thrives on chaos and indulgence.

"The Flying Spaghetti Monster does not demand perfection," the Prophet proclaimed, tossing the shredded scripture in a bin. "He embraces our flaws, our quirks and our questionable life choices. He wants us to have fun, to indulge our vices in moderation, and to remember that life is too short to be taken seriously."

The nation erupted in cheers. The casinos reopened and the fermented mushroom breweries fired back up.

The Goblin Council of Elders was relieved at the economic recovery and dismayed at the reversal. "We were just getting used to sobriety and responsible governance," said Elder Gnarltooth, pouring himself a generous goblet of fermented mushroom ale. "But old habits die hard, especially when there's a profit to be made."
