In an exclusive interview with GNN, GoblinLife.org web designer Grungle Gribblesnatch has defended the site's use of "borrowed" CSS, dismissing accusations of plagiarism as mere coincidence.
"It's just CSS, for crying out loud!" Gribblesnatch said, waving his six-fingered hands dismissively. "Sure, our website might look a bit like some other major news networks. That's a happy accident. It's not like we stole their entire content or anything."
Shown screenshots of identical CSS on GoblinLife.org and a popular human news site, Gribblesnatch remained unfazed.
"Okay, maybe we borrowed a few lines here and there," he conceded. "But if they didn't want us to use it, they shouldn't have made it so easily accessible. You can right-click it. It's like leaving a plate of cookies out in the open and expecting no one to take a bite."
He also addressed the incriminating comments found in GoblinLife.org's stylesheets, which appear to have been written by other development teams, at other companies, in other time zones.
"That's the pixies messing with us," he insisted. "Those mischievous little creatures love to sabotage our work. They snuck in while we were compiling and added those comments just to stir up trouble."
Many in the goblin community remain skeptical. The Goblin Council of Elders has opened a formal investigation, and some goblins are calling for a complete overhaul of the site and the dismissal of its entire web development team.
"This is a serious matter," said Elder Gnarltooth. "We cannot allow our reputation to be tarnished by accusations of plagiarism. We must get to the bottom of this, and then we must find out what CSS is."
