As the repossession crisis deepens, the Goblin Council of Elders has turned to a new tactic: feigning ignorance. Questioned about their own past-due vehicles and mounting debts, the elders collectively shrugged and claimed to have no knowledge of such concepts as "loans" or "repossession."
"Loans? Repossession? What are those, pixie tricks?" scoffed Elder Gnarltooth, adjusting his oversized hat to hide his shifty eyes. "We goblins live in a world of barter and favors. We don't deal with fancy financial instruments."
The elders have gone further, accusing the repo crews of belonging to a vast pixie conspiracy. The pixies, they say, envious of goblin prosperity, invented debt to sow confusion among the goblin populace.
"It's all a ploy to distract us from our true purpose: achieving ultimate goblin satisfaction!" shouted Glurp from the public gallery, waving a fistful of his own unpaid bills.
The repo crews aren't buying it. They have amassed a mountain of evidence: signed contracts, overdue notices and embarrassing photos of the elders joyriding in their luxury vehicles, each with a "This is not the vehicle you're looking for" note on the dashboard.
"These goblins are masters of deception," muttered Grungle Grabstuff. "But we won't be deterred. We'll get our groats back, even if we have to repossess their hats."
The Council responded by declaring hats a pixie conspiracy too, then decided against it.
