The Goblin Nation is in a sudden, severe downturn, and the public is blaming GAGe, whose ad sent half the country to the casino with its savings.
"GAGe ruined my life!" cried Grungle Flankmire, who brought a large fortune to a GGG casino on Tuesday and left with a small one, then none. "Now I live in a cardboard box and eat moldy cheese rinds."
Into the gap has stepped the Goblin Gaming Group, which has pledged to double its funding for the Broke Hoes Foundation. The foundation, which began as a PR stunt, has become the nation's de facto welfare system. Its soup kitchens are overflowing, and its shelters are full of goblins who lost their homes to gambling debts.
"We may be a gambling empire, but we have a heart," declared Grublina, GGG's new chief executive. She took over the group last week when it bought Goblin Gummies, at the height of the Gnome Brain Boost craze. "We will not abandon our fellow goblins."
Not everyone is moved. "It's like the arsonist donating to the fire department," scoffed Grunglewart, a goblin social critic. "GGG created this mess and is now profiting from it."
The Goblin Council of Elders has said nothing, apparently content to let GGG handle it.
The goblin economy now rests in the hands of a gambling empire and a hastily assembled charity. Both are run by the same goblin.
