The Goblin Council of Elders has demanded a share of the Goblin Gaming Group's profits. The Council argues that it granted the Group its gaming license and ignored its business practices, and that it is therefore owed a generous slice of the pie, or rather the fermented mushroom stew.
The Group, flush with cash and brimming with arrogance, shrugged. Grungle, its CEO and self-styled "King of Goblin Capitalism," scoffed at the demand and said the Group's resources exceeded those of the whole Goblin Nation.
"We built this empire from the ground up," Grungle said in a televised address, lounging in a solid gold bathtub filled with champagne and questionable slime. "We took risks, we innovated, we exploited loopholes in the tax code. The Council sat back and collected its bribes. Now it wants a piece? It can try. It will find we have more gold than they have goblins."
The reply has unsettled the Goblin Nation and raised questions about the balance of power between the government and its largest business. Some fear the Group's greed could lead to a coup. Others applaud its willingness to stand up to a corrupt council.
The Council has threatened to revoke the license and impose heavy fines. Grungle has hinted at mobilizing his army of security trolls and unleashing economic chaos.
