Goblin universities are drowning in applications for their new Bachelor's and Bachelorette's degrees in Mental Gymnastics, and a new organization has formed to look after the students: the Young Goblin Chaos Association (YGCA).
Grungle Gristle, filing for GNN's education desk, reports that some universities are holding classes in caves and abandoned mineshafts to keep up. "It's chaos out here," said Gristle, dodging a cartwheel from an overenthusiastic first-year. "But it's a testament to the goblin thirst for knowledge, no matter how absurd or impractical."
The YGCA was founded by goblin educators and mental health professionals to give young goblins a safe space to explore their chaotic potential. It offers:
- Mental gymnastics training: workshops, seminars and intensive camps in agility, flexibility and problem-solving.
- Chaos counseling: therapy to help goblins channel their impulses into productive pursuits.
- Community: social events, support groups and mentoring.
- Advocacy: lobbying for more funding for mental gymnastics programs.
Critics call the craze frivolous and say goblins should learn practical skills like blacksmithing, brewing and pillaging. The YGCA counters that a well-rounded goblin needs both creative problem-solving and destructive chaos, and that it has already found a way to combine them. It did not say what that was. The Council has been advised to keep an eye on it.
