Renowned human animator Seth MacFarlane, creator of "Family Guy" and "American Dad," has set his sights on the Goblin Nation with a new animated series, "The Goblinsons," which will premiere exclusively on GoblinNet, a platform he had not heard of until his agent was paid in mushrooms.
The show follows the misadventures of a goblin family living in a cave and navigating the everyday challenges of goblin life.
"It's a fresh take on the classic family sitcom," MacFarlane told GNN in an exclusive interview, conducted by carrier pigeon. "We'll explore goblin parenting, interspecies dating and the existential dread of impending doom. But don't worry, there will be plenty of fart jokes and explosions."
The main character, Grungle Goblinson, is a lovable yet bumbling goblin patriarch struggling to balance his responsibilities as a father, husband and cave decorator. His wife, Griselda, is a fierce, independent matriarch who runs a successful business selling fermented slime smoothies. Their children, Snotty and Fungus, are typical goblin teenagers, obsessed with video games, pranks and avoiding baths.
"Finally, a show that understands us!" said Grungle Gristle, a die-hard MacFarlane fan. "I can't wait to see Grungle Goblinson stumble through life's obstacles. It's like looking in a mirror. Same name and everything."
The Goblin Council of Elders has approved the show as a positive representation of goblin life and a potential boost to tourism.
"This is a great opportunity to showcase our culture to the world," said Elder Gnarltooth. "We're confident 'The Goblinsons' will be a hit with audiences of all ages and species. We have not seen it."
"The Goblinsons" premieres on GoblinNet next week.
