A new trivia show has taken the Goblin Nation by storm, and it is not a typical trivia show. On Jibberdy Jabber, contestants are read a cryptic prophecy uttered by the Oracle and must respond in the form of a question that fits it.
The format has turned the tables on traditional trivia experts, who are being humiliated weekly, and has made gibberish-spouting goblins into national heroes.
"It's pure genius," said Grungle Gristle, GNN's Chief Analyst and a self-confessed addict. "Finally, a show that rewards creativity, intuition and a complete disregard for logic and reason."
Ratings have passed the most gruesome mud wrestling matches and the most chaotic cheese-rolling competitions. Goblins tune in to watch esteemed scholars stammer at the Oracle's ramblings.
"It's so satisfying to see the know-it-alls stumble," cackled Gnarlwit, a self-proclaimed jibberish master who recently won a lifetime supply of fermented mushroom juice. His winning response to the clue "When the third moon weeps, the turnip remembers" was "What is a Tuesday?" The Oracle confirmed it.
The show has created a booming market for jibberish coaches, who teach nonsensical communication through tongue twisters and random word generators.
The Goblin Council of Elders approves. "Jibberdy Jabber celebrates our culture and our love of the absurd," said Elder Gnarltooth, an avid fan. "The most profound truths are found in the most nonsensical utterances." Gnarllie, the Council's lying spokesgoblin, agreed.
