The Goblin Nation is in a full-blown panic. Cryptic messages, whispered in hushed tones and scrawled on moss-covered walls, warn of impending doom. Their source: anonymous goblins who claim inside knowledge of a nefarious plot involving "things about stuff."
The vagueness has only fed the paranoia. Some goblins think the "things" are a secret Council weapon. Others fear that "stuff" is code for a plague, or an invasion by a rival faction, or possibly the crabs.
GNN, in a series of increasingly frantic broadcasts, has amplified the panic with reports of "suspicious activity" near the Council chambers, "strange lights" in the sky and "ominous rumblings" from deep underground. Doom Watch has expanded to four hours a night.
The Goblin Council of Elders has urged goblins to remain calm and trust their leadership. The statement was met with ridicule, as many goblins believe the Council is either behind the plot or incapable of dealing with it, and some believe both.
The streets of Mudwick Isle have descended into anarchy. Goblins are hoarding fermented mushrooms, stockpiling weapons from rusty swords to weaponized spatulas, and staging impromptu mud-wrestling matches for stress relief.
Asked what the things were, and what the stuff was about, one of the anonymous sources told GNN: "You know. Things. About stuff." He then left in a hurry, carrying both.
