GNN is pulling out all the stops for the trivia showdown between Elder Gnarltooth and the Noodle Prophet. The network has named it the Trivia Titan Throwdown and promises a spectacle to dwarf the greatest sporting events in history.
"This is bigger than Mayweather vs. McGregor, bigger than the Goblin Mud Wrestling Championship, bigger than the time Grungle tried to eat a live kraken!" screamed a GNN anchor over the fanfare and flashing lights. "This is the ultimate battle of brains, a clash of intellects that will decide the fate of the Goblin Nation!"
Promotional videos feature slow-motion shots of Gnarltooth stroking his beard and the Prophet twirling a menacing spork. The commentary team includes former wrestling champion Mungatha the Mud Monster and conspiracy theorist Gnargleboggle the Skeptical, who is currently on the run from the Goblin Council and will be appearing by phone.
Betting shops report a surge in activity, with odds lurching as rumors spread about the categories and each contestant's expertise.
"I've got my shiny pebbles on Gnarltooth," said one gambler, eyes glued to the GNN ticker. "He's old, but he's wise. He's forgotten more trivia than the Noodle Prophet ever learned."
Others are backing the Prophet. "The Noodle Prophet is a force of nature," whispered a shadowy figure in a dark alley. "They possess a wisdom that transcends mere facts and figures."
The shadowy figure was later identified as the Noodle Prophet.
