The Goblin Council of Elders, desperate to cool tensions between Mudwick Isle and Rigatonia, has proposed a new kind of settlement: a trivia contest. Elder Gnarltooth, widely regarded as the wisest and most sober of the elders, has challenged the Noodle Prophet to a battle of wits.
"Let us settle our differences not with swords and sorcery," Gnarltooth said in a televised address, "but with the power of intellect and a healthy dose of competitive spirit."
The Prophet answered with a hearty chuckle. "Do you take me for a fool, old timer?" they said, their voice echoing through Rigatonia's underground noodle tunnels. "I accept, on one condition. I choose the categories."
Speculation has gripped the nation. Will the questions cover the intricacies of Pastafarian doctrine, the history of noodle-based warfare or the correct technique for twirling spaghetti?
GNN will carry the showdown live, with commentary from goblin scholars, pundits and conspiracy theorists, and has opened betting pools for wagers in shiny pebbles and fermented mushrooms. The winner takes bragging rights and the future of goblin society. GNN takes ten percent.
