Mudwick Isle is abuzz with rumors of dark magic and shady dealing, as a mysterious whistleblower known only as "The Deep Fryer" accuses the Goblin Council of Elders of raising Blaseball from the dead.
According to The Deep Fryer, the elders, desperate to distract the public from their own scandals, resorted to forbidden necromancy to pull the sport out of the Immaterial Plane. The ritual allegedly involved fermented mushroom sacrifices and a Ouija board made of pizza crust.
"They have crossed a line," The Deep Fryer warned in a message delivered by carrier pigeon. "The spirits of the Immaterial Plane are not to be trifled with. The Council's actions will have consequences."
The Deep Fryer also revealed that several elders hold significant investments in Blaseball merchandise companies and have profited handsomely from the revival. Goblin taxpayers are outraged.
"They're not just corrupt, they're greedy!" said one citizen, who lost his life savings betting on the Baltimore Crabs. "They've sold their souls to the Flying Spaghetti Monster for a few extra shiny pebbles!"
The Council denies any wrongdoing, calling the accusations "baseless rumors" and "pixie propaganda," and maintains that Blaseball's return was a natural phenomenon, like weather, or the incinerations.
Few goblins believe it. GNN recommends investing in tinfoil hats and fermented mushroom antidotes, both of which are available from several Council members.
