Elder Breaks Ranks: "We Obliterated GGG With Magic, the Pixie Story Was Exaggerated"

Published: January 4, 2025 at 8:20 PM

Elder Fungella of the Goblin Council of Elders has admitted publicly that the claim of a pixie-led coup was invented. She maintains that the elders did destroy the Goblin Gaming Group's headquarters with goblin magic.

At a hastily organized press conference she addressed the doubts and conspiracy theories now circulating on Mudwick Isle. "Alright, alright, we may have embellished the story a bit," she said, in a voice that mixed defiance and embarrassment. "There were no pixies involved. We, the true Council, took matters into our own hands and dealt with the GGG ourselves."

Fungella described the elders' frustration with the Group's growing influence and its disregard for the nation's welfare, and said its pursuit of profit had led to corruption, exploitation and a decline in morale.

"We couldn't stand by while our nation crumbled under their greed," she said, her eyes flashing. "So we tapped our ancestral magic, honed over centuries of ritual and revelry, and unleashed it on their headquarters. It was an act of self-defense and a message to anyone who would exploit our people."

The confession clears up some of the confusion and raises new questions about the Council's transparency. Some goblins want a full account of what the elders did. Others are glad the Group's reign of greed is over.

Gnargleboggle the Skeptical, who first questioned the pixie account, is not convinced. "This is another attempt to manipulate us," he muttered, eyes darting. "Who's really pulling the strings? The Oracle? The Kraken? Or something more sinister?"
