The truth behind the Goblin Council of Elders' strange behavior has finally come out. The real elders, held captive in a chamber beneath Mudwick Isle, escaped their bonds and unleashed their wrath on the impostors who had been posing as them.
The "elders" turn out to have been shape-shifting pixies, disguised so well that they ran the Goblin Nation from within. Their reign, marked by questionable decisions, frivolous spending and an unhealthy obsession with ziplines, is over.
The true elders, with a thousand years of wisdom and a strong desire for revenge, broke out of their prison with a force that shook the island. Their goblin magic, honed over centuries of ritual and revelry, crackled through the air, destroying the impostor pixies and reducing the Goblin Gaming Group's headquarters to a smoldering pile of rubble.
Afterward the elders addressed the bewildered public. "Fear not, my fellow goblins," said Elder Gnarltooth across the charred remains of the Group's empire. "The dark days are over. The pixies have been vanquished, and the true Council has returned to restore order and sanity."
The crowd cheered, then began to chant "Grungle who?" and "Down with the GGG!"
In a short question-and-answer session the elders covered the main points.
How did you escape? "Fermented mushroom fumes and pixie magic don't mix well."
What are your plans for the nation? "We will rebuild, restore and reignite the true spirit of goblinhood. And maybe, just maybe, we'll invest in some decent accounting software."
What about the GGG? "Let its smoldering headquarters serve as a warning to anyone who would exploit the Goblin Nation. We will not tolerate greed, corruption or excessive use of glitter."
The elders then retired to their chambers, and the goblins celebrated their liberation. The GoblinLife.org saga is over. A new era of goblin governance has begun, and it has not yet been explained.
