GNN's Top 5 Caves for Shiny Thing Hunting: A Goblin's Guide to Gleaming Glory

Published: April 18, 2025 at 6:05 PM

Tired of sifting through garbage dumps and rummaging through human pockets for shiny trinkets? It's time to go back to basics, goblins. Grab your pickaxe, your lantern and a healthy dose of greed, and head into these five caves, all rumored to be brimming with treasure.

  1. The Glittering Grotto. Deep in the heart of Mudwick Isle lies the resting place of a dragon's hoard. Legend has it the dragon, a creature of immense wealth and questionable dental hygiene, amassed a fortune in gold, jewels and enchanted artifacts before succumbing to a bad case of indigestion, caused by a particularly spicy gnome.
  2. The Crystal Caverns. A labyrinth of shimmering amethyst and glowing quartz. It is also home to a tribe of territorial cave trolls who do not share. Bring something shinier than what you plan to take.
  3. The Lost City of Gleamingold. An ancient goblin metropolis swallowed by the earth centuries ago. Explorers who made it back describe golden statues, diamond-encrusted thrones and an artifact known as the Orb of Infinite Sparkle. Explorers who didn't make it back describe nothing, which is suspicious.
  4. The Glimmering Gulch. A narrow ravine in the Fungus Forest, layered with every bauble careless goblins have dropped over the centuries. Expect to dig through dirt, grime and fermented mushroom spores. Expect to find your own keys.
  5. The Cave of a Thousand Echoes. This cavern amplifies the slightest sound into a symphony of whispers, groans and the occasional maniacal laugh. It is guarded by the ghost of a goblin bard who will reveal his hidden treasure only to those who can solve his musical riddles. He has been humming the same four notes since 1612. Nobody has asked what they mean.

GNN cannot confirm that any of these caves exist, and accepts no responsibility for injuries, curses or grumpy trolls. If you meet one, you were never here and neither were we.
