Greetings, fellow goblins, and any bewildered humans who stumbled onto this page. Today we take on a question that has divided the Goblin Nation: should imps be recognized as service animals?
Before you reach for the pitchforks and torches, hear me out. Imps, those mischievous little creatures with a love of chaos and fire, have qualities that make them valuable companions for goblins in emotional distress.
- Emotional support: Imps are notoriously empathetic, always ready to lend a listening ear or a mischievous grin. Their pranks are a welcome distraction from the stresses of daily life.
- Stress relief: Who hasn't wanted to set something on fire after a frustrating day? An imp lets you channel those impulses safely, without burning down your own cave.
- Companionship: Imps are loyal, as long as the supply of shiny objects and sugary treats holds, and offer the unconditional love so often missing from goblin society.
- Practical assistance: They are no service dogs, but imps can be trained to fetch small objects, deliver messages (usually with a twist) and start fires for warmth, cooking or fun.
- Fashion: An imp on your shoulder is a bold look, and its fiery breath doubles as a hair dryer. Mind the eyebrows.
There are drawbacks. An imp's mischief can have unintended consequences, such as your neighbor's beard catching fire. With proper training and supervision, those risks can be mitigated.
Imps offer empathy, mischief and pyromania in one small package. Let us embrace these fiery little creatures and the good they can do for our lives. I write this from my third cave this year.
