The Goblin Gaming Group (GGG) has opened The Lucky Leprechaun's Lair, a casino with a wide array of games, questionable odds and an atmosphere the management describes as "delightfully seedy."
The opening included a fermented mushroom toast, a fireworks display using stolen fireworks and a ceremonial blessing of the random number generators by Elder Gnarltooth of the Goblin Council of Elders.
"I've never seen such a marvelous contraption," said Gnarltooth after a demonstration of a slot machine. "The shiny symbols spin around and sometimes line up. It's like magic, but with a chance to win pebbles."
The games on offer:
- Goblin Gold Rush Slots. Spin the reels and pray to the Oracle for a fortune in gold, gems and other questionable treasure.
- Pixie Poker. Test your bluff against pixies who cheat with skill and steal your socks.
- Troll Toss. Dice against a burly troll. The stakes are high and the odds are higher, in the troll's favor.
- Russian Roulette (Mushroom Edition). Players take turns eating mushrooms. Some are delicious, and others are not.
A lounge offers fermented beverages and a place to plot your next win or mourn your latest loss. Within a day of opening, The Lair was already crowded with goblins who wanted to lose money in an atmosphere of unpredictable excitement. The management expects returns, mostly its own.
