GoblinLife.org has escalated its war on ad blockers and link sharers, warning anyone who passes around links to premium content that they are committing "piracy" and will face legal action.
"We will not tolerate these acts of thievery," declared Grungle Scribbler, the site's CEO, in a press release that dripped with righteous indignation and a hint of fermented mushroom fumes. "Our content is our intellectual property, and those who steal it are no better than common bandits."
A new tracking system identifies readers who share premium links on social media and elsewhere. Offenders will receive a cease-and-desist letter from the site's legal team demanding they remove the links and pay a hefty fine, in shiny pebbles.
If the letters fail, Scribbler has promised to escalate personally.
"I will appear before the Goblin Council of Elders," he said, his voice trembling, "and I will weep, wail and gnash my teeth until they act against these vile criminals. I will not rest until justice is served."
The prospect of a CEO sobbing uncontrollably in front of the highest authority in the land has rattled the Goblin Nation. Some readers applaud his determination to protect the company's property. Others call it heavy-handed.
"Isn't this a bit much?" asked one commenter on the GoblinLife.org forums. "It's a few articles about fermented mushrooms and conspiracy theories."
The comment has since been replaced with wingdings.
