Get ready to rule the skies, captains. The next major update for World of Warships introduces a new class: the Seagull Swarm, a support class that puts players in command of a massive flock of ravenous seabirds. The swarm swoops down on unsuspecting warships in a chaotic symphony of squawks and pecks, and then it gets messy.
The class is inspired by the Goblin National Guard's legendary Pigeon Air Force. It is built to disrupt enemy operations, distract gunners and overwhelm even the most sophisticated air defense through agility, speed and sheer numbers.
Here's how it works:
- Scouting: Send the swarm ahead to spot enemy positions and reveal their movements to your team.
- Harassment: Dive-bomb enemy ships, peck at exposed crew, block their vision and generally cause a ruckus.
- Distraction: Saturate enemy anti-aircraft guns with birds, leaving the ship open to your teammates' torpedoes.
- Bombs Away (Sort Of): Seagulls carry no traditional ordnance, but they do carry payloads: fish guts, half-eaten sandwiches and the occasional regurgitated French fry. Damage is minimal. The stench lasts the whole match.
Veterans and casual players alike will find a fresh angle on naval warfare here, and a new way to annoy an opponent who has spent forty minutes angling a battleship perfectly, only to be defeated by a bird with a chip.
