CUPERTINO, CA - An Apple software engineer says the face of the company's co-founder, Steve Jobs, appeared in the foam of a venti double soy latte during a late-night coding session at a coffee shop near Apple Park.
"I was staring at my latte, trying to debug a particularly nasty piece of code, when I noticed a pattern in the foam," the developer said. "At first I thought it was my sleep-deprived eyes playing tricks on me. Then it became clearer. It was Steve's face, unmistakable in its intensity. The foam was even doing the turtleneck."
The developer, who asked not to be named for fear of losing their job or being labeled a fanboy, photographed the latte with an iPhone before the image dissolved back into froth. The photo has since gone viral. It shows a striking resemblance to the late tech mogul, complete with his round glasses and piercing gaze.
"It was like he was trying to tell me something," the developer said. "Maybe to keep pushing, to think different, to never settle for mediocrity. Or maybe it was a coincidence. Either way, it was pretty trippy."
Apple employees and tech enthusiasts are divided. Some call it a genuine miracle, a sign that Jobs is still watching over the company he built. Others call it a hoax or a caffeine-induced hallucination.
"I think it's a bunch of baloney," said one skeptical software engineer. "It's probably Photoshop, or a publicity stunt by the coffee shop. I mean, who drinks soy milk lattes anyway?"
The developer remains moved. "To see his face in my latte, even for a moment, was a reminder that we can all make a dent in the universe," they said. "I'm told the barista has since been asked to sign an NDA."
