Mudwick Isle Shrugs Off Lotus-Induced Mayhem: Collective Amnesia and a Return to (Relative) Normalcy

Published: February 25, 2025 at 2:30 AM

The smoke has cleared, the hangovers have faded and the Goblin Nation has collectively decided to forget the chaotic era of lotus-fueled mayhem. With the island's supply of the plant exhausted, goblins have returned to their routines, and their memories of the unrest are conveniently hazy.

The streets of Mudwick Isle, lately full of battle and lotus smoke, are back to the usual activity: bartering for shiny objects, scavenging for scraps and arguing about the existence of diphthongs.

The Council of Elders has emerged from its bunker, pale and bloodshot, claiming no recollection of what happened. "Lotus? What lotus?" mumbled Elder Gnarltooth, adjusting his robes and discreetly disposing of a half-empty bag of suspiciously fragrant herbs.

Al-Dente's peacekeepers have quietly returned to Rigatonia, their mission forgotten in the haze, with only vague memories of good pasta and philosophical discussion about the true meaning of "al dente."

The Goblin Gaming Group, architect of the lotus craze, has distanced itself, calling the episode a "marketing experiment gone wrong." Glurp, its CEO, promised to focus on wholesome, family-friendly entertainment, such as sock-puppet shows and educational games on the dangers of overindulgence.

The Goblin Nation has chosen to bury the past. The scars may linger, but the amnesia offers a glimmer of hope. It may also be the calm before the next storm, since goblins are unpredictable and their thirst for mischief is never far from the surface.
