The Goblin Council of Elders has dissolved Parliament and turned Parliament House into a rave venue. The move, carried out in the name of "national unity" and fueled by fermented mushroom ale and techno music, has consolidated the Council's authority and silenced dissent.
The parliamentarians, caught off guard, were rounded up by the Goblin National Guard, which had apparently misplaced its non-Euclidean ammunition, and banished to a remote island inhabited by grumpy trolls and disgruntled pixies.
With Parliament gone, the elders turned to rebellious Rigatonia. Using ancient goblin magic, weather-manipulation technology and a generous bribe of rare cheeses, they pulled the breakaway island back toward Mudwick Isle, reuniting the Goblin Nation under their rule.
The reunification was celebrated with a week-long rave at the newly christened "Parliament of Party," formerly Parliament House. Goblins from every walk of life filled the dance floor, fueled by fermented beverages, questionable snacks and the promise of a future without political bickering and parliamentary procedure.
Elder Gnarltooth, the architect of the move, called it a success. "The Goblin Nation is stronger than ever," he said, barely audible over the beat. "We have united under one groove, one beat and one shared love of fermented fungi. The future is ours."
Some goblins mourn the loss of their democratic institutions. Most seem content to dance. Who needs debate and red tape when you can spend the night in a mushroom-fueled frenzy?
