The Goblin Gaming Group has expanded its empire again with The Groovy Grotto, a nightclub a stone's throw from the Goblin Council building.
The subterranean club has dazzling lights, a sound system that could wake the dead (or at least a few sleeping trolls) and a dance floor that pulses to goblin techno. The menu offers fermented beverages, questionable cocktails and a surprisingly large range of imported human energy drinks, with snacks from glow-in-the-dark grubs to candied cockroaches.
The Group says the location is a coincidence. Skeptics say it is a strategic move to curry favor with the Council of Elders, with late-night parties and a VIP lounge, where the fermented mushroom cocktails flow freely, as a means of influence.
Glurp, the Group's CEO, denies any ulterior motive. "We wanted to give goblins a fun, exciting place to let loose," he said in a press release that reeked of desperation and stale beer. "That it is near the Council building is purely coincidental. We have no intention of influencing anyone or anything, except maybe the dance floor."
Goblins remain suspicious. Some see an attempt to corrupt the Council. Others see a harmless distraction from the stress of daily life. Either way, the Grotto is the hottest new spot on Mudwick Isle.
