Bud... Weis... Where Are They Now? A Deep Dive Into the Fates of America's Favorite Amphibians

Published: October 31, 2024 at 10:20 PM

Remember the Budweiser frogs, croaking out the beer's name in perfect three-part harmony? Their commercials were a staple of 90s television. Their lives after the limelight took some unexpected turns.

Frankie

The leader of the pack, Frankie had a booming voice and a natural star's charisma. After Budweiser he became a motivational speaker, touring swampy conferences and corporate retreats across the country with his mantra, "Never underestimate the power of a good croak." Frankie was last seen in 2005 hopping into the Bermuda Triangle, reportedly for a lucrative speaking engagement with a group of sea monsters.

Louie

The middle frog, Louie, was known for his laid-back attitude and love of the simple things. He retired to a secluded lily pad in the Louisiana bayou, where he runs a bed-and-breakfast for weary amphibians. Guests rave about his lily pad cocktails and Cajun-inspired insect cuisine. He is said to be working on a tell-all memoir, Hoppin' Mad: My Life as a Budweiser Spokesfrog.

The third frog

The third frog vanished without a trace while the other two basked in the afterglow. Some say he had extensive plastic surgery and took a new identity to escape the spotlight.

The most outlandish rumor holds that he became the internet meme Pepe the Frog. There is no evidence for this. The resemblance, however, is uncanny, and Pepe has never once been seen in the same room as a Budweiser.

Where are they now?

Frankie's whereabouts remain unknown. The third frog's identity is the subject of fervent speculation. Louie's bed-and-breakfast holds a 4.8-star rating among the amphibian elite and enforces a strict no-herons policy.
