Repo Man? More Like Repo-Thanks, Pal!

Published: November 3, 2024 at 9:55 PM

How losing my truck led to a life of luxury (on two wheels)

The economy took a nosedive, I got laid off, and my beloved truck got repossessed. Life handed me lemons, and I hopped on a bicycle.

Goodbye gas guzzler, hello gas money

Remember shelling out your hard-earned cash at the pump? Those days are over. My fuel is now a breakfast burrito, which is far more satisfying than premium unleaded, and I've got enough left over for a craft beer at the end of the day.

Parking? I prefer "wheeling in"

Remember circling the lot like a vulture, praying for a spot? I roll right up to the front door, lock up my trusty steed and waltz in. No parallel parking, no parking tickets.

Traffic jams are for other people

Remember inching along while your blood pressure skyrocketed? I weave through those suckers like a ninja and arrive cool, calm and collected, with a free workout thrown in.

Maintenance is a little elbow grease

Remember the repair bills that made you want to cry? My maintenance routine is a wipe-down with a rag and a little chain lube.

The repo lifestyle is a thing

I may not have a truck anymore, but I have freedom: from debt, from stress, and from ever again helping a friend move. Plus, my calves look ripped. Who needs a gym membership when the bank has already taken care of it?
